In Uzbekistan, control over compliance with the requirements of legislation, regulatory documents and state standards in the field of communication, information and telecommunication technologies, distribution of periodicals was transferred to the control inspection in the field of information and telecommunications. This is mentioned in the President's decision "On measures to improve the state control system in the fields of information and digital technologies" signed on December 11.
According to the decision, the inspection under the Ministry of Digital Technologies was designated to the Self-Control as a state body with special authority in the following areas:
implementation of state control in the fields of informatization, telecommunications, postal communication, digital technologies;
registration of mass media and monitoring and control of their compliance with the requirements of legal documents;
monitoring and control of compliance with legal requirements of publishing and printing business entities;
protecting children from information harmful to their health.
The control inspection in the field of information and telecommunications takes measures to combat the distribution of prohibited or restricted information in the mass media. The mass media takes monitoring and control measures in the distribution of social information on online platforms, regarding compliance with the language, volume, duration, and age classification of the information product.
Takes measures to prevent copyright infringement in publishing books, creating electronic and audio books.
Monitors whether the information product contains information harmful to children's health, whether the information product is suitable for a certain category of children or not.
Monitoring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements in the use of artificial intelligence technologies, monitoring compliance with the requirements of legal documents in the production and distribution of software, identifying and eliminating violations and applying fines are among its tasks.
By January 1, 2027, the "Digital Control" platform with the following capabilities will be launched:
monitoring of services provided in the fields of digital technologies and telecommunications in remote and remote areas where the population lives;
taking appropriate measures in case of interruption or stoppage of information systems, resources, software products and databases;
organization of quick consideration of appeals received from individuals and legal entities.
