Chemical expertise is of great importance in modern criminalistics. Scientific research on narcotics and psychotropic substances in particular is an important factor in solving complex crimes.
Recently, during a quick operation in the region, a person was arrested, who was keeping a large amount of a substance similar to a green, strong-smelling narcotic in his apartment. It was impossible to determine the actual composition of the substance found in his house and registered as evidence based on its appearance.
— Any substance is not judged by its outward sign. Because there are so many different types of drugs, they can sometimes look like a normal drug or food supplement. That's why we analyze the substance in a scientific laboratory, - says the chief expert of EKM, lieutenant colonel Murad Mansurov.
After the found substance is brought to the laboratory, it is examined in several stages. Physico-chemical analysis is carried out to determine the color, structure, solubility and state of the substance under the influence of temperature.
