In Mahmud Kashgari's work "Devonu Lugotit Turk" it is said that "Erdam boshi til dir" means "All virtues and virtues begin with the language". The great thinker and poet Alisher Navoi, our grandfather, says, "Language is the key to the heart's storehouse, and words are the key to the heart's storehouse." That is, the language is the treasure of the human heart, and the key to this treasure of the heart is the word.
There is no river without water, no nation without language
The Uzbek language is one of the oldest and richest languages in the world. Because the words of this language have such a broad meaning that a concept with one meaning can be expressed through a few words. For example, the word eye has several meanings. We know that if a word related to one concept is represented by several words, that is, the more synonyms there are, the richer the language.
There is no river without water, no nation without language. A language belonging to a nation lives and persists with that nation. Our ancestors have preserved and developed the language since ancient times. Therefore, we must preserve our mother tongue, enrich it and pass it on to future generations. Indeed, a nation without a language does not develop.
These thoughts are confirmed by the great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, "As long as the language exists, the life of the people is eternal." Each language is dear to a certain nation. Each of us is indebted to the people who brought us up and gave us their most priceless wealth - their language: if we sacrifice our lives for the purity and enrichment of our language, we will have fulfilled our filial duty."
For the realization of such noble goals, the law "On the State Language", and later the decree of the President and a number of decisions were adopted in our country from the very beginning of independence.
Why did we need the law?
"Why do we need the law on language?" To show our pride? To satisfy our pride? No. We need a law on language in order to preserve our identity, not to lose our language, to prevent the extinction of the Uzbek nation," says our beloved poet Erkin Vahidov.
Because the language is the spiritual foundation that introduces the nation to the world, its important symbol, an integral and inseparable part. Languages are the common wealth of mankind. It is impossible to think with a person without knowing his language. In order to understand the culture of another nation, it is necessary to know the language of that nation. Our people describe it simply as: "He who knows the language knows the world."
What makes each nation a nation is the unity of language. For this, only when every Uzbek, every child of this nation preserves his own property, the next generation will show itself as the heir of the Uzbek language. That is why laws and regulations are so important. They serve not only as a legal document, but also as a reminder, program, and guide.
For a person, how much is his Motherland, parents, and family
if he is precious, his mother tongue will be so dear and sacred. In the words of the President, "Today, we rely on the life-giving power of our mother tongue to achieve our noble goals of building a new Uzbekistan, the foundations of a new Renaissance."
Where is the source of our power?
It is no exaggeration to say that the source of our power is first of all in literature, in the works created by our great ancestors. For example, our grandfather Navoi in his works is distinguished by the variety of the term "word" and the breadth of content. In addition, wherever Navoi uses the word "word", regardless of its meaning, whether it is literature or in mutual communication (speech, eloquence, language, words and means of speech, ethics, relations between people, etc.).
Whoever hurts the heart with harsh words, a bitter tongue will pierce him like a poisoned spear. The wound of the spear of the tongue does not heal in the heart, nothing heals the wound. If there is a wound of the tongue's spear in one's heart, only a kind word and a sweet tongue are its salve and comfort. Our great grandfather says that a gentle word turns savages into nobles, and a sorcerer casts a spell out of its den.
Also, the poet urges to pay special attention to the importance and use of the word.

In conclusion, we would like to say that the issue of language is much more urgent than we think. If he is not treated like the Avar mothers, the language will die, not the person. When the language dies, the nation dies.
