Mavlana Abdulbaqi Khojagi Emkanagi, an accomplished propagator of Sufism in the direction of Khojagon Naqshbandiyyah, scholar of jurisprudence and hadith, was born in this village in 1512 and died in 1600. His son Maulana Khoja Abdul Qasim ibn Mawlana Khojagi is also buried here.
Maulana Emkanagi, who received his initial education from his father Darvesh Muhammad, studied usul (furu), kalam, tafsir, and hadith in madrasas of Bukhara and Samarkand. Having learned the secrets of the order from the great sages of his time, he gained fame as a propagator of the Naqshbandi order and a great sage.
In the book "Index of Manuscripts of the Naqshbandiyya Tariqat" there is information about Hazrat Khojagi Emkanagi's work entitled "Intikhab as Kitobin Nasama" ("Selected from the Book of Shabbodas"). A small part of this work has reached us and is kept in the manuscript fund of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Abdul Kasim, the son of Khojagi Emkanagi, built a house and a dahma for his father in the 16th century in the village of Khoja Ilmkon. From the 1600s, along with the shrine, a Sufi order was formed around Emkanagii's house and tomb. There is an old sycamore tree in the courtyard of the mosque near the hall, the circumference of which is 27 meters. The interior of the maple tree is 5.8 meters long and 4.2 meters wide, where 25 children could comfortably sit in a circle. Until the beginning of the last century, the maple tree was used as a school. Azim maple is still there.
Pilgrims from Turkey, Germany, America and other countries are currently visiting the shrine.
